Winters in the Pacific Northwest can be taxing. The rain, the fog, and the cold are enough to keep most visitors away and many locals indoors. Seasonal Affective Disorder is no joke in the PNW, where we can go weeks on end without seeing the sunshine. Fortunately, we live in one of the most ecologically diverse regions in the world, and getting away from the rain is as easy as driving a few hours in any direction to gain a few thousand feet of elevation, where that rain becomes snow.
